We may use Twitter as a means of announcing various REPA events. So don't forget to: Follow @repaweb |

Facebook currently appears most suited to activities within different Bases and countries. Proposals will be made to REPA members in due course. |
REPA Social Media
The creation of REPA Facebook and REPA Twitter accounts was originally a response to repeated requests by REPA members on the REPA website. Thanks to one of our members we were put in contact with a specialist in Social Media who has served as an informal advisor to REPA.
After discussions it has been decided that the basic format of REPAweb and the format of Social Media are incompatible, not least because one is based on anonymity and the others are based on open access (including real names, personal details, photographs, etc.).
In these circumstances we believe that REPA should simply establish a "central organisation" in social media channels on behalf of Ryanair pilot users - mainly by providing a basic structure and rules. However, after that we plan to have little further involvement once the new system is set up. We expect this work to be done by volunteers who are not directly involved in REPAweb.
Once we establish this new system we - REPA - will thus have minimal involvement and we do not intend to have any "day to day" role, nor do we plan to use the social media as a normal means of communication.
The Plan
We now plan to set up a REPA Facebook page for each Ryanair base. This will enable pilots in each Base to provide information to each other about social activities, accommodation, swops, information/tips for new arrivals, etc, etc. for pilots in the Base. {In this regard the REPA Facebook pages will replace our plans to provide a place to arrange swops and information about travel and accommodation in different Bases}.
The purpose of providing a basic structure will be to enable you, the Ryanair pilots and their partners, to keep in contact, to arrange local events and to obtain information about other Bases when moving, etc.
Those of you who wish to subscribe to the REPA Twitter account will have the opportunity of making and receiving announcements about important events.
REPA may make occasional tweets about matters of interest.
N.B. NO PUBLIC CRITICISM OF RYANAIR, OR OF ITS PERSONNEL, OR OF ITS ACTIONS, ETC. WILL BE PERMITTED ON EITHER REPA FACEBOOK OR REPA TWITTER PAGES. SUCH MATTERS ARE EXCLUSIVELY FOR DISCUSSION ON REPAweb AND WILL BE REMOVED.
KEY PRINCIPLE: REMEMBER AT ALL TIMES THAT ANYTHING WRITTEN ON REPA’S FACEBOOK OR TWITTER PAGES ARE IN THE PUBLIC DOMAIN WITH YOUR NAME BESIDE IT AND CAN BE TRACED BACK TO YOU. THEY ARE NOT SECURE OR ANONYMOUS.
The REPA Facebook and REPA Twitter facilities are intended for social purposes only and not to discuss any matters related to Ryanair as a company or their staff.
In view of this REPA recommends that all Ryanair pilots subscribe to both REPA Facebook and REPA Twitter and participate fully in taking advantages of the opportunities which social media offers.
