Q. Why has REPA been set up?
A. Ryanair has a multi-based pilot workforce across traditional Pilot Association boundaries. It was recognised that the existing model of a representative body is no longer valid and required updating into a pan-European organisation.

An assessment of the situation by BALPA, IALPA and the ECA (European Cockpit Association) concluded that it was necessary to establish a new style of pilots Association, with a view to ensuring that Ryanair pilot concerns will be taken seriously.

It was agreed that the first objective for such a new Association would be to provide a secure environment where pilots could voice their concerns and exchange information with their colleagues across Europe. REPA is the result of this consultative process.
