Paul Ridgard Fund

At the request of Ryanair pilot members of REPAweb, this is one of two charitable funds that REPAweb has established. The discussions regarding the background to this initiative can be found on REPAweb forums.

The Paul Ridgard Fund has been created in the memory of F/O Paul Ridgard, a Liverpool based pilot.  This is a charitable fund and its primary purpose is to provide support for the education and upbringing of his young son.

Paul Ridgard committed suicide in circumstances that some consider to be controversial. The situation in which his former wife and son find themselves have been reported to REPA as "difficult".  Ryanair pilots have expressed a strong desire that they be given an opportunity to donate money in order to assist his young son (often in posts on the REPAweb site).

This explains the circumstances in which the Paul Ridgard Fund was established.

A dedicated Bank Account for this purpose has been established.  Because of the wide geographical dispersal of the Ryanair pilot group payment by PayPal is considered to be the most suitable mechanism for most contibutors.

  • The PayPal link for donations below will enable donors to pay by credit card, either in a single lump sum or by means of a number of regular payments.
  • For those who wish to donate to the Paul Ridgard Fund by transferring funds directly to the Fund - refer to the bank details below.
  • Your generous support for this fund will be greatly appreciated by all who knew Paul and wish to support his son.
  • Two advance donations have been made to this Fund; IALPA has donated €500 and an anonymous donor has donated €250.

Trustees of the Fund

There will be three Trustees of the Paul Ridgard Fund.  One will be an anonymous Liverpool based Ryanair pilot. He will liaise with Paul's family. One will be a REPAweb Moderator and the third will be the Chairman of the group of Trustees, Captain John Goss. (Captain John Goss is a senior Ryanair pilot. He is also an elected member of the Executive Council of IALPA, the Irish Airline Pilots' Association).
